The Arculus Cold Storage Wallet supports 12 and 24 word recovery phrases and you choose which you prefer when creating your wallet. 

• Once you have created your wallet, it is crucial that you store your recovery phrase in a safe place. You may even want to write it down and store it in multiple locations as an added safeguard.
• The order and spelling of words is essential. Please be sure to write your recovery phrase down exactly as it is displayed to you in your wallet. Misspelling a word or entering the words out of order will restore an entirely different wallet. 
• We recommend that after you first create your wallet and write down your recovery phrase, that you "test" or validate your recovery phrase. You can uninstall/reinstall the Arculus Wallet app from your phone, and use the recovery phrase you wrote down to restore your wallet.
• Because Arculus is a self-custody wallet, we do not store or have access to your recovery phrase at any time. 

You will need your recovery phrase to restore your wallet if you replace your card or phone, or if you enter your PIN code incorrectly three times. If you lose your recovery phrase, there is no way to restore your wallet in any of these scenarios. The funds held in your Arculus Wallet would no longer be accessible to you.
