General Staking Terms and Information:

Arculus Wallet offers three different types of staking; Native Staking, Liquid Staking, and Third-Party Staking. Please see below for more details.

Native Staking involves choosing a pool to stake to. For this type of staking you lock an amount of your native token in the staking pool, and you do not receive a different token in return. At a later time you can also unstake the token and/or claim your rewards.

Liquid Staking involves locking away a native token and receiving a staked version of that token in return. With liquid staking, you need to unstake your assets to receive the original native token again, or you can also use a DEX to manually swap your staked coin for the native token, effectively unstaking it.

Third-Party Staking is similar to native staking in that you lock an amount of your native token by depositing it to a pool and must withdraw your deposit to claim your rewards, however you do not have a choice of which pool to deposit to. You will only see a single option provided by the third-party.

Important terms to know and understand:

Unbonding period – Time between “unstaking” your stake, and when that stake becomes available for you to withdraw it.
Warmup period – Time between “staking” your stake, and when it begins to accrue rewards.
Withdrawal period – Time after your stake has unbonded and is available to withdraw before it becomes unable to withdraw again.

Please see below for step-by-step instructions for Native Staking:

1. Tap on the asset on your main wallet screen.
2. Tap the Staking button, and then Start Staking.
3. Enter the amount you wish to stake, either in terms of the asset or fiat currency. Please note that different assets have different minimum amounts, and some may require you to stake your entire balance.
4. Towards the bottom of the screen, under Pool, tap the Tap to select a validator button.
5. Select your preferred staking pool and then tap Next at the bottom of the screen where you are redirected after selecting the staking pool.
6. Wait for the fee to be calculated and tap Confirm.
7. Enter your 6-digit PIN when prompted and tap your card to your phone to sign the transaction.
8. Your asset is now staked!

 Please see below for step-by-step instructions for Liquid Staking:

1. Tap on the asset on your main wallet screen.
2. Tap the Staking button, and then Stake.
3. You will see that the next screen shows you the appropriate native asset that you will need to stake.
4. Enter the amount of the native asset you wish to stake, either in terms of the asset or fiat currency.
5. Tap Next at the bottom of the screen, wait for the fee to be calculated and then tap Confirm.
6. Enter your 6-digit PIN when prompted and tap your card to your phone to sign the transaction.
7. Your asset is now staked!

1. Tap on the asset on your main wallet screen.
2. Tap the Staking button, and then Deposit.
3. Enter the amount you wish to stake, either in terms of the asset or fiat currency. 
4. Tap Next at the bottom of the screen where you are redirected after selecting the staking pool.
5. Wait for the fee to be calculated and tap Confirm.
6. Enter your 6-digit PIN when prompted and tap your card to your phone to sign the transaction.
7. Your asset is now staked!
