Your Funds May Be at Risk — Here's What to Do Right Now
First, we want to say: this can happen to anyone, and we're here to help you through it. If you believe you've accidentally entered your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase into a fraudulent website or app, it's important to act quickly — but don't panic. There are steps you can take right now to protect yourself.
What's the risk?
Your recovery phrase is like a master key to your wallet. If someone else has it, they could potentially access and take your funds. The sooner you move your assets to a safe location, the better.
What you need to do: Move your funds immediately
You'll want to transfer everything out of your Arculus wallet and into a safe destination. You have two options:
- Send to a different wallet you own — this could be a second Arculus wallet or another wallet app entirely. Just make sure that wallet has a different recovery phrase than the one you think was compromised.
- Send to a crypto exchange account you own — platforms like Coinbase, Uphold, or Robinhood work well for this. Any exchange you already have an account with is fine; those are just examples and we're not affiliated with any of them.
What you'll need
To send your funds, have these two things ready:
- Your Arculus card
- Your 6-digit PIN code
